I haven't updated here in ages! My apologies. I am still in the midst of rewriting A Fairy Tale Sorta. Again I apologize that it's taking so long. I keep finding things that just don't seem right at all.

I hope to get it rewritten and sent to a publisher soon!

I've been getting news and alerts from NEA, National Education Association, that school districts across the country are watching employees Facebooks and MySpace accts and firing for inappropriate content. All of which I have no complaint over really, just a heads up that journals will probably be in that list too hence you can expect my really pervy moments will be in locked communities and locked post.... not that I've been very pervy lately anyway. But given the really AWFUL year I've had discipline wise, I figure it's only a matter of time before my boss/es decide to go hunt out my presence online and I prefer them to think I'm a kook that collects very expensive dolls, does silly memes and rambles about the difficulties in making doll sized jeans! Self-preservation is a basic instinct!

I'm hoping that it never comes to the point were I need to "lock" this journal, which renders it unreadable unless you have an account and are on my "friends" list. But we'll cross that bridge when we get to it!

Meanwhile! I am nearly finished with the rewrite of A FairyTale... Sorta! And it is tipping the scale at a whoppin 110,844 words! OMG!

Additionally, has anyone heard of/dealt with/bought from a publisher called Nazca Plains? They contacted me but I'm nervous to deal with them since their email is an aol account, which doesn't sound to legit to me. So I wondered if anyone had any info.

Sorry to be away so long. March has been a horrible month and I've really not cared much about anything for the vast majority of it. On the upside, I have managed to get the first half of AFTS rewritten. I have added a wealth of info on medieval economics and class system, more on Nicco's childhood illness, some deeper probing into his mind and a new character! Whew! I have also moved some scenes around and let more time pass at the beginning of the story, I'm horrible about making everyone all buddy buddy right off the bat!

Hopefully, I'll have it ready to be sent to a publisher by June. I really DO think that it's a stronger, better book now.

Apparently my subconscious is as sick of vampires as my conscious mind is XD

I dreamt this morning a funky little dream that started in a somewhat cliched manner with a group of people exploring a reputedly haunted old building "where an ancient evil" was supposedly sealed. God knows WHY we had the 7 year old autistic boy off my bus with us but we did and wouldn't you know it he got lost. So calling for him, of course, woke the aforementioned ancient evil who comes bursting out of the building vampiric minions in tow.

The best part of these vampires is they were so surprised at the modern world that they stopped, pardon the pun, dead and gawped at the road and cars whizzing by like yokels. Consequently, 20 or so were finished off, by the simple expedient of grabbing them by the hair and smashing their heads into the brick wall, before they rallied to attack. Needless to say, the wall got a little goopy and fingers were slimed but after the second or so no one noticed anymore..... XD

Now my dreams like to hop around so the rest is fairly disconnected scenes: I tried dragging them into the sunlight but that didn't work and they only whined about having no sunglasses... several more were killed in a small room while they wtched some movie on a big screen TV. This was the best killing ever as they had their throats slit by paper raffle tickets that had been blessed by a vampire killer. And it was great.. she's blessing the tickets and ripping them off to hand to people who were running off to attack vampires(I think I'll skip the raffle at closing ceremonies of Yaoi-con this year thank you XD)

And lastly I MUST mention the other two vampire killers! I'm not sure if they were twins but I suspect so. Anyway, tallish dark haired boys wearing thick leather collars with a large trailing chain, think SERIOUS tow chain here folks. Apparently the chains connect to an entity, possibly demon, that materializes in a fight. The boys killed vampires by either: wrapping the chains around their necks and popping heads off like dandelions or by using the entity connected to the end of the chain..

So that's as far as I got before the cat scratching at the door to be let in caused me to sit up so fast I nearly collided with the wall XD

Readers of mine, expect the twins to show up some day in something....

Being sick today and still had to work, I curled up, during my break, on the couch under my warm blanket and started to sketch out the characters of the twins. They are pretty well fleshed out in my head, so expect some scribblings on them hopefully soon... Yes, I have the attention span of a hyper caffeinated grasshopper...

I have finished rewriting chapters 1 & 2. Not much has changed a few things snipped out that will be re-added later in more appropirate places. I have added a wealth of information on the Medieval class system and some stuff on economics and land use Medieval style. I'm also digging deeper into Nicco's self-esteem issues.

So expect some bang up world building and character building!

I've just started into Chapter 3 and expect to take the scalpel to it liberally! But have no fear, what I cut will end up else where in the volume. I'm also thinking of dividing the chapters a bit differently.

Anyway, I hope everyone doesnt loose interest in the book while I work on it! *sweatdrop* I'm hoping to have it shaped up to be sent off to a publisher by sometime in April. I will keep updating on my progress as I go!

Thank you to everyone who has commented here or written me, it's nice to know I'm not alone. Please spread the word about Nifty's attempted theft and extortion, word of mouth is a powerful weapon, my friends.

So in other news, I started working on a MASSIVE rewrite of Volume 1, I know you're all waiting for the rest of Volume 2. The problem there, you see, is that I am toying with the possibility of taking Lehi out of the lead villian's role. I was never comfortable with him there in the first place and it will increase the plausibility quotion for what's planned in Book 3 so..... *chews lip*

Anyway, I've been discontent with a few other things in the first book, but unwilling to change them in the rush to print. However, with this poo pile from Nifty, it's an excellent opportunity to tweak and move things around and perhaps make the book a stronger finer story. I want to do the writers of my youth justice in my inspiration. And I want to offer the best possible product to my lovely readers, cuz I really wouldn't bother if it weren't for you.

So please don't give up on me if you don't hear anything from me for awhile!

I have bad news and if you know anyone who has read my stuff on Nifty, please spread the world to them. I will no longer be posting any of my writings there. The rest of A Fairy Tale in Flight will be found ONLY on my Insanejournal. I have requested the Nifty Archivist to remove AFTS but he refuses saying I am not allowed to take it down without replacing it or paying him money. I will consult a lawyer to see if this is legal and if it I will pay him and have it removed. From this point onward, I will have no further dealings with Nifty, as this kinda shit cans any plans to get it published if he refuses to remove it.

His letter:

"I am sorry, but Nifty does not do that. Nifty is not a temporary exhibition space. We cannot allow publishers to cherry-pick the best stories from Nifty.

If you want the story to be removed from display, you need to replace it with a similar story of equal quality or make a monetary donation to Nifty to allow Nifty to encourage and help other authors.

Personally I think this blows and is way beyond the pale. How can you encourage other authors when you are holding their stuff for ransom? I feel like I've been kicked in the stomach here. I will have NO further dealings with Nifty EVER again!

Worse case scenario, I'll have to rewrite the first two books and that will take up a LOT of time and delay any further updates by quite a bit. I apologize in advance.
